EHI Mission

The mission of the Equitable Housing Institute (EHI) is to improve housing availability, fairness and affordability for low- and moderate-income Americans, by removing major obstacles known as exclusionary housing practices, through education and law.

(Exclusionary housing practices (also generally referred to as “regulatory barriers to housing opportunity”), consist of exclusionary zoning (such as government policies that restrict excessive portions of a locality to large, single-family lots and home sizes)--and other unjustified restrictions that interfere with housing opportunities for members of minority groups, and for low- and moderate-income Americans generally.)
